When they're in a different order or separated by other buttons, they are separate. If I have the reload button first and then the stop button, they merge. I've moved the buttons around a bunch and currently the buttons are separate, but I suspect only because I switched the order they were in. Depending on what I'm doing the button has either one or the other function. The reload and stop buttons were merged into one. I downloaded a new one, but there's a strange, inconsistent issue: Turns out not a single one of my themes works with this version.

I also discovered the 'tabs on top' option in the customize menu, so unticked that, and now my Firefox is beginning to look like itself again. I thought they could only be moved to the taskbars, and the buttons I needed were not offered. I figured out that the icons can be moved TO the customize menu, which helped tremendously in reordering them. Hopefully someone else with a similar issue gets something out of this. Seems to be another one of those times when I'm answering my own questions. Will restoring my old profile fix this, or is there some other trick to make this more functional for me? What's missing for me are the buttons next to the address and search bar, the back, forward, reload, stop, and home buttons.
